The route to the biggest MMA stages often begins much closer to home. In a March 2025 feature, UFC Fight Pass highlighted Shuriken Fight Series in New Zealand and Eternal MMA in Australia.
The article traced the role those promotions play in developing talent, naming former Eternal champions Jack Della Maddalena and Steve Erceg among its examples. It also looked at the regional experience of Quillan Salkilld before his UFC debut.
This is an archive feature rather than an upcoming-event announcement. The original story offers a useful introduction to two of Oceania’s regional MMA pathways.
